You are seated next to your father in a moment of re-created time...meeting him has been what your entire journey has been about. But you cannot communicate, you cannot shift your focus...you cannot break the link:
Joe is now aware that the man beside him has turned his head. He
is aware that the man is smiling at him; that it is the smile a father offers a
son after a term of absence.
“Hello Joseph,” David says with a nervous smile. “ I'm glad you
came.”
He must not shift. He must not react. The chain will separate;
the links of time will separate. He must not flinch. But he knows that this is
his father. He must not doubt it. No negativity but so many questions after so
many years.
...perhaps something to ponder over a cup of tea?
